3 Copywriting Tips for Beginners
Whether you’ve been in business for years or you’re just getting started, crafting a landing page can be downright scary.
There’s so much to think about!
Your first time through the process can be very frustrating … here’s our guide to help you create the perfect landing page.
Your customer is the star and your landing page experience should feel like a red carpet. Many visitors have come here to, hopefully, purchase your product or service. They’ve taken time out of their day to do so. So when they get there, it should be a seamless and easy experience for them.
There should not be any hurdles that stand in the way of completing their desired outcome — whether that’s signing up for your newsletter or purchasing your product.

Tip #1
No one cares about you; they only care about themselves. What you can do for them and how you make their lives better.
That’s a harsh truth, but it’s also an opportunity. It means your website can help people get what they want without having to focus on yourself alone. Instead of bragging about who you are and what you’ve done, be a guide!
When someone lands on your site, they are looking for something. If you can lead them to what they’re looking for and help them make decisions, you’ll come out ahead every time.
One way is to start with a story:
- Strong introduction
- Define the problem
- Be empathetic and show your competency
- Present a plan and how you can help them implement it
- Be specific
- Show how to avoid failure and the success you can bring.
Tip #2
Keep it simple.
Take the principle of the subreddit and explain it like I'm five.
Why? Because it helps you to be explicit about what you offer while remaining relatable and interesting.
Tip #3
Don’t be everything to everyone
One of the biggest mistakes is not defining who is your product for enough, don’t encourage people to buy something they don’t need or won’t use.
By doing the above, you only open yourself up for negative reviews, returns, and bad experiences.
