Lead generation is the process of finding people interested in your brand and turning them into loyal customers.

Lead generation lets you reach your customers from the very beginning of the customer journey and lets you guide them, so you can earn their trust, build a relationship and let them know you are the best choice when they are ready to make a purchase.

The most common methods of leads in the west are email addresses, these are used by e-commerce brands in different ways like nurturing leads, segmenting different groups of customers, and driving sales.

The most common and passive ways of generating leads are via email forms, pop-ups, and checkout pages.

However, there are more creative ways for generating new leads for your business that is not as passive as the previously mentioned ones.

1. Chatbots

Chatbots are a great tool for lead generation, they integrate seamlessly with your brand’s website and are available for your customers 24/7.

Set chatbots that match your brand’s personality, reply to customers in real-time, and increase your conversion rate.

2. Widgets or tools

Widgets are a fun way of generating leads by certain brands or industries, for example:

Is your brand in the financial service industry? Create a potential calculator customers can use to calculate their future net worth.

Are you a KOL/Influencer agency? Create a calculator for potential customers to calculate a certain influencer engagement rate.

After a couple of uses, you can ask for people’s emails and begin to tell them about your brand.

3. Lead magnets

Lead magnets refer to a certain type of document that you can give to potential customers for free in exchange for their email addresses.

Examples of these can be:

Free courses, industry reports, user guides, online tools and e-books, and a lot more.

4. Giveaways

Giveaways are a fun way of generating leads and one of our favorite ways of doing it, organize small and big giveaways to generate leads.

They can be as simple as giving away one of your products and putting a small budget behind it, or as big and complex as creating content, dedicating content, landing pages, new ads, email sequences, and coordinating with influencers.

5. Discounts or offers

You can quickly generate leads by offering a 10% discount to people for signing up for your newsletter. These are also leads that are very likely to convert immediately to your site.

Now you have the leads, what can you do with them?

You can create different email flows for different purposes and different groups of people. Different email flows can help introduce your brand and values to potential customers, tell them the benefits of using your products, see user-generated content and reviews from other customers and if they are still undecided, offer them a discount.

Other ways of keeping in touch with your leads are birthday discounts, cart abandonment reminders, holiday offers, or maintaining a weekly newsletter where you teach users interesting facts about your industry.
