You know that feeling when you’ve got something big, something that’s just itching to get out there?

That was me in 2019. Marketing director, growing Instagram pages from zero to 50k followers like it was nothing. But those accounts? They weren’t mine.

They were the company’s. And when I left, I had to hand them over.

Starting from zero?

Nah, not for me. I had a plan. Buy an Instagram account with some niche following, grow it, monetize it.

Easy, right?

Then I saw it.

An account with 1 million followers. Only $800.

Sure, it was packed with fake followers, but who cares? I had the tools to weed them out.

100–200k real followers? That’s gold.

Removing fake followers? Easier than gaining them.

I reached out to the owner. We chatted. I felt good about this. I even did some research on how not to get scammed.

But hey, I knew better. I didn’t want anyone else to beat me to it.

I clicked send on that PayPal transfer, and bam!
