Choosing a business category
When you sign up for an Instagram Business account, you’ll be asked to select a category, this will be displayed on your profile and it also determines on the algorithm how you rank among similar businesses, if your engagement is higher than your peers, Instagram will favor your content, generating more view, more engagement, and ultimately more sales.
What it will affect:
- How relevant do people perceive your content to be according to your category?
- Who to show your content to in the explore page and the live feed based on their previous engagement on pages in the same category?
